    Great replacement for the central vac outlets where the door breaks because of the spring. Wife was told by everyone that these don’t exist. And they worked perfectly.

    Drag is you use one small part. But have to buy the whole thing. Wish they just sold the door. The rest is a waste.

    Alas, our old one was 13 years old and finally broke, so searching out a replacement cover only, the rest of the product is fine, however you can't buy (at least from what I'm seeing), just a cover.
    So...I bought the whole kitten kaboodle for just that.

    This product was a perfect match to my existing Eureka system in a house we just bought. I had one spring break in a vaccum inlet and a previous owner probably had a similar problem but he just swapped the plate for one that wasn't used. Now I have 2 that are no good with only one still servicable. I bought 1 of these items as a trial to see if it would work and plan to buy 2 more. The only down side which resulted in the 4 star rating was the fact that you cannot buy just the face plate. You must buy the complete assembly that would be required for a new install. You get all the behind the wall parts that just get tossed. They REALLY need to offer just the face plate.

    The dealer we bought the vacuum from claims there was no such thing, and you need to drag an extension cord around with the powerhead. These outlets allow us to use the electrified hose that came with the unit. The split ring collar makes contact for the vacuum relay, and the two-prong brass socket provides the line voltage for the powerhead. No need for a separate extension cord.

    Works well. But if installing in existing construction with 2x4 walls it is nearly impossible to get them into the wall through the opening if you glue the elbow on first. Instead I put the fixture into the wall and turned it sideways. Then working through the cutout glued the elbow on the back of the fixture - careful to get the orientation correct. Then with assistance of someone handling the other end of pipe glued it to the elbow. Finally I rotated the pipe and fixture as a whole 90 degrees so the face of the fixture rolls into its cutout opening in the Sheetrock and screw the faceplate on. So far they work as they should.

    We installed central vac when we built our house 30 years ago and 'supervalves' (supplying 110V power and suction to the same outlet) were a new thing. Now three decades later those old valves, having sucked up a lot of dirt and been slammed shut and twisted open a few too many times, are beginning to fail.

    Fortunately, these valves are a perfect and direct replacement. I didn't even have to switch out the box behind the wall--the faceplate which contains the switches and wiring points fits perfectly into the existing.

    Though these do not scream 'high quality, will last forever' they are the exact equivalent of the prior boxes and those lasted forever. SO I am hopeful.

    Replacing requires you to turn off the electricity, unscrew the current faceplate and remove two sets of wires. One set is to be wire nutted to the house current and is permanently affixed to the faceplate The other set of wires are low voltage and are simply shifted over to the new valve using brass screw terminals.

    Once the wires are on the new faceplate, you can re-attach it to the current (or new, if this is a new install) with two screws and ... voila. It's painless.

    We have a late 90s Beam Serenity and going off the pictures it looked like this would match up and it did. Had a hanging wall piece that fell off and broke the cover of the vacuum inlet below. Like others have found, you just can't buy the cover. Our unit needs power in the small plug as well as the low voltage on the hose - simple to wire up and works great!
