Milescraft 1219 Circle Guide Kit

Using your router, you can cut circles from 1.5" to 52" in diameter

Cut small and large circles from 1.5” in diameter to 52” in diameter with the CircleGuideKit. With the included TurnLock base plate, this product is compatible with most routers. There is no longer a need for that homemade router circle jig, the CircleGuideKit does it all for you and includes everything you need to cut your desired circle. This router guide also includes an Offset Base for finishing edges on your work piece. Best used with a plunge router.

Small Circle Jig Attachment

I received this circle jig about 3 hours ago and it has had a workout!!!

I had watched videos on its use and had all my wood ready, waiting for it to arrive so I could see if it was sloppy as some reviewers stated or if the measurements were inaccurate as others stated.
When I received it, without any calibration what so ever I slapped it together and started to cut to see if the negative reviews were right and it was going to be quickly returned. It was SPOT ON on every cut I've made in the 3 hours that I've had it and I've made a garden table, a set of 8 coasters and two charcuterie boards. Every cut was spot on accurate!!! I was seriously amazed that just slapping one of the the bars in and tightening the knob was all it needed! It made me think of how impressed I was when I received my TSO track saw square (that cost 5 times what this cost!), I just slapped it on and it worked, PERFECTLY!
Oh, and I had no issues with flimsiness. I guess after reading the negative reviews I was not expecting it to be as sturdy as it is! I have NO issues with it!

I have OCD and LOVE when things are perfect and this circle jig fits that bill!

Definitely recommend!!

This tool does what it says it will do in a great way. It's easy to use and fast setup and to work with. The base plate is easy to install and provides a bushing and small tool to align it correctly to your router. At first, I didn't understand why it was needed but once you try to install the base plate that comes with it, you understand - if the bit and base plate are not centered correctly, the scale will be inaccurate. The base plate is universal and because of the way the holes are made (they're made to fit just about any router out there), they won't centre on your router like the factory base plate that comes with your router hence the tool to centre it correctly. Takes only a few minutes to setup.
The router bit that comes with it is good and could possibly be replaced once it is no longer sharp. (I'm not sure if I would try to get it sharpened but we'll see later...)
The drill bit to make the centre hole is also perfect for the provided pivot and the screw that comes with it. You don't get the feel that the hole is too big or too small, it fits perfectly. If you don't want the hole to show through, make sure you drill from underneath your piece of wood (ie: if your piece has a side you would prefer be on top for example) and stop before you punch through.

All in all, a good tool at a great price. Highly recommend you get this to make perfect circles. I used to do them by hand and then sand them down but this is way better. The results are excellent and require little or no sanding.

The jig does work okay, but there are a couple of things that could make it better out of the box. First, the drill bit provided to make a pilot hole for the pivot point bracket is too big for the screw provided when working with softwood. Second, nothing in the box or online instructions explains how to secure the circle being cut out to the sacrificial board underneath. Without securing it, you most likely will damage your project. A little direction or heads up would help.

I adapted this jig to my Bosh MR23EVS plunge base router by adding 2 extra holes in the base plate. I made a few experimental bowls and discovered that the very small wood screw that holds the router in place was getting loose as the device was rotating and did not produce accurate circles. I solved the problem by drilling a 4mm hole in the work and using a bolt type screw of 15mm length which gave me a more secure fit and thereby accurate circles. If Milescraft could develop a better way to secure the device with other than a 1/2 " wood screw, this jig would be the best router tool on the market.

i build guitar cabinets in my spare time and was not happy with the jig saw route in cutting the speaker holes in the baffles . I was on the hunt for a circle jig ,came across the Milescraft and couldn't be happier . great price , well built , everything you need comes with the kit . instructions are very informative plus the have a video ( online ) that pretty much explains everything . first set up and cut in a scrap piece of plywood gave me the perfect hole , checked it with the speaker and fits way better than any of my free hand attempts . the one fault i would have is the screw that comes with it for positioning the jig at the centre of your cut out is way too short , no problem , just put a longer drywall screw in and no issues . well done Milescraft !!!!!!!

I have found great value in this purchase--I can now cut circles, hoops, curves and it cost me less than $60.

Read the instructions when installing the plastic plate on your router, it will save you time. They have screwholes for matching almost all major brand router designs.

I do recommend taking practice cuts, and to have sacrificial materials under whatever flatstock you're cutting into (I put rigid foam under mine). I kept confusing the Inside and Outside measurements when cutting flat hoops for wreaths, but I'll call that user error.

I will say I'm not really satisfied with how the center pivor point is basically just a drywall screw... I was cutting into a lot of MDF and found it eventually causes drifting of the jig because the screw strips out the surrounding material after multiple circles around the material. Maybe its better on solid wood. I plan to investigate if this can be diy-improved. Still very good value for the jig.

Another great tool that is quality from Milescraft.

Kit comes with a small & large circle jig that goes from 50mm hole/circle up to I think 1060mm hole/circle.

Both are made well, work effortlessly, and easy to use, although watch the short video from the QR Code that shows how to put these together, as it will save time reading the instructions that are a little confusing.

Also comes with a large clip on base for extra stability when edging or trimming.

Price is good, quality is good, and it does what it says it does in an easy simple way that is stable without running off the beaten track and stuffing up a good piece of board.
