- Reviewed in Canada on January 22, 2025Verified PurchaseI did not even know such things existed until my electrician told me about this. The install was easy, works perfectly and definitely value for your money. No complaints.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 22, 2024Verified PurchaseDid exactly as advertised. I put in a shelving unit that would have covered the existing light switch. So I install the receiver. Made an Access hole in the shelving unit to access the receiver( as per electrical code) then place the transmitter( the switch) elsewhere in a more practical location. Saved me a ton of time not having to rewire the switch and the light. Sure you can argue that I'll have to change batteries or whatever but I can life with that.

Reviewed in Canada on June 18, 2024Verified PurchaseUn peu cher, sans gradateur intégré , mais interessant!
- Reviewed in Canada on July 5, 2022Verified PurchaseJust bought an older house with a lack of switches where they should be. Like stairways, entryway, hallway. Bought a couple sets of these as well as a few extra switches to allow switching from multiple locations. Only been installed a few days but they work great so far. The controller/relay fits perfect in a regular switch box, and the switches will screw to a regular box or you can screw the switch right to the drywall and it’s thin enough that the cover plate still sits tight against the drywall. No idea how long the batteries will last or if there will be issues in the future but these things are amazing so far. As an electrician, I know it would have cost a lot more than $100 to get some of these switches in. Not to mention the drywall repairs, painting, etc.
So far I’m pleased and will likely recommend these to my customers in the future.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 17, 2024Verified PurchaseThis device allows me to switch a ceiling light without the hassle of installing a dedicated hard wire to the existing box. This version is a simpler on/off-only device. The first purchase was for the dimmer version and it didn’t function at all (returned) It was a total pain trying to link to the switch.
UPDATE:
Now I cannot recommend this product- after remarkably very little use it has failed. The rocker-type switch clicks in the "on" direction but not "off".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!
Verified PurchaseThis is a magic product-- the only one of its kind apparently, at least from my searches online. I engaged a contractor to build a soffit with up lighting and a 4-plex outlet that could have half of its receptacles switched via a switch on the wall. The contractor overlooked this and didn't run a wire for the switch as well as a separate one for continuous operation of the other two receptacles. I looked high and low for wireless switch solutions, but all seemed to go over the top and allow for connectivity to Alexa or smart phones.
This product works well. The switch has an embedded battery; it does not use any power from your switch box, nor does it connect to anything. It generates radio signals when you press the top or bottom of the rocker switch (both during programming). The receiver has three wires, a common (white), line in (black), and load out (red). I wired it into my outlet box easily and the module consumed relatively little space in the box. Programming was simple-- press a button on the receiver (while power is on, which in a live box is hard to do, so get a non-conducting wooden chopstick to aid here), then press both top and bottom on the switch, and it remembers the pairing. Using was simple and unexpectedly good: Of course it works, but what about when power is lost; does the pairing go away? Does it remember whether the unit was turned on or off when power was lost? Pairing stays in effect, and impressively, so does the last state it was in. So if you have holiday lighting, or maybe speakers running on this, and you experience a power glitch, it will come back on if it was turned on. Bravo.
Stuff to note:
The radio receiver is rated to switch up to 10A (wish it were 15A, as a circuit with a 15A breaker should be able to handle 15A from the user's perspective).
The leads are stranded, not solid. I made sure to not bundle the stranded common lead with a bunch of solid common leads, but pigtailed off of the bunch to have a stranded-solid connection on its own, and taped this for extra mechanical security.
There is a (very short) antenna wire sticking out of the receiver. If you are installing it in a plastic old-work box, you'll be fine to leave it inside the box, but if you have a metal box, you'll have to figure out how to position this thing in a way that the antenna manages to stick outside the box. Fortunately I didn't have to figure that out; my box was plastic.
Make sure you have a deep box to accommodate the unit and whatever else goes in the box; this takes up an inch or so in the back end.
I don't know what happens if the current draw is more than 10A; does it catch on fire? Not sure, but anyway, it is a potential problem. Probably not intended for a switched outlet, but more for lighting, fans, etc. But at the very least I could install an extra 10A breaker in the box or downgrade the whole circuit to 10A.
Overall though, I am really impressed with how it installs and works, and also how nice it looks. Great job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome hack for adding lighting!
Verified PurchaseAbsolutely love this concept. I didn’t want to rewire my bathroom to put a light over the shower. I used this in a box I repurposed that housed a 3 way switch. I didn’t need the extra switch, so I used the box for the switch and just ran power to the ceiling over the shower and installed the receiver. Been working great for months! Ideal solution!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well
Verified PurchaseThis was a pretty slick install and was a breeze to wire up. Also easy to program. I was a little unorthodox with my installation and have the relay outside of a 4-square metal box, with the high side wiring fed through a chase nipple into the box. I was worried about the metal acting as a shield and interfering with the signal. You can still see that there is a little antenna wire that I could have poked through out of the box, but I didn't want to concern myself with box fill issues, either. Nobody likes 10 pounds of stuff crammed into a 5 pound box ;)
My remote is only about 10' away from the relay, and blends in seamlessly with existing switches- though you do obviously need to buy an appropriate gang larger wall plate for your additional switch. Mine is on the far left, above the toaster inthe image.
Also, I like that this is a brand I already know- Intertek. I've seen this brand in the industrial world where I work. The chinese ones for 20 bucks I don't trust to be around in 5 years if it breaks and so I would have to reconfigure everything. And the Run Less Wire was more costly- and an unknown company- so this seems like a good balance.
I will consider this again when a wireless switching option is needed. I have a couple other locations in my house where I have done something similar to this using parts from the orange or blue big box stores; but I don't need all the connectivity options. This just works, is simple and gets the job done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best switch for not running wires
Verified PurchaseDid you every want to put a light switch somewhere, but you were to lazy to actually run wire. Here is your solution. I now have two of these in my home, and they look completely natural with a switch plate. You can literally screw/stick them directly into a wall.
