No phone mounted at the time. I ordered 3m double sided pads and they worked like a charm. I guess stop being so cheap on the adhesive.

A lot of thought and care has been put into the design of this magsafe mount. It looks like jewelry and is probably the nicest looking accessory in my Kia. I decided to put it on the lip of my glove box so that my passenger can use their phone for watching videos or facetiming handsfree. I stuck to the manufacturers instructions and let the mount stick on the surface I mounted it to for 12 hours undisturbed. They also mention the ideal temperature conditions this adhesive works best in, and seeing as it was much colder than that I decided a full day without putting the phone on would be best. Every now and then I would go to the car and press down as hard as I could (without breaking anything) on the adhesive to make sure it had the best contact possible and the extra effort paid off. It sticks extremely well to my glovebox (plastic, leather texture) and its easy to move around to get your preferred viewing angle. The adjusting arm may feel stiff, but that only adds to my confidence that this will be a secure phone mount even in bumpy rides. The magsafe magnet is extremely strong, and I found that I almost had to twist the phone off the mount to get it off. Again, I see this as a positive. Being able to rotate the mount 360 degrees and having 2 pivot points means that you can have your phone at any possible angle without compromise. My girlfriend loves it as she can just watch her downloaded shows easily on long drives as well as handsfree facetime that looks perfect on her end. I did try to hang a bag from the phone mount, that isn't what I'd use it for but just in case anyone does, it looks like it can easily hold 10lbs but I'd be worried to go any more than that. Dare I say it, this might be the perfect MagSafe car mount. Now if only it had wireless charging.... Even still, absolutely recommend!
