Poor design of the carafe: the plastic rim around the edge of carafe that holds the lid in place is not removable, so it makes it very difficult to clean the inside of the carafe , yet the actual lid does not snap in place over the spout, so as you pour, the lid swings freely, thus leaking coffee all over the counter, a problem that seems to be popular with most complaints on this product. It is also very fiddly to program, especially to set it to auto-brew in the morning. Setting the amount of cups or ounces to brew also gives inconsistent results, thus affecting the strength of the coffee......too weak if too much water passes through the grounds, too strong if not enought water passes through. Every morning is a surprise!!
