Use Clear Jel for perfect pies and compotes, add Fruit Pectin to jellies and jams, and try Agar-Agar powder as a vegetarian alternative to gelatin in all your favorite treats.

Apple Pie recipe

Apple Pie Filling

Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 7 mins | Yield: 8 servings

Step one: Peel, core and slice apples.

Step two: Melt butter and cinnamon over medium heat.

Step three: Stir in apples, sugar & 3 tablespoons of water. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally for 4-6 minutes or until very slightly softened.

Step four: In a small dish combine Clear Jel and water.

Step five: Add to the pan while stirring and continue to cook until the apples are soft (not mushy) and filling is thickened.

Step six: Let bubble for 1 minute. Cool.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp Hoosier Hill Farm Clear Jel
  • 4 medium apples
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp water
