- Reviewed in Canada on June 15, 2023Verified PurchaseI bought this for our new boat. It came with a Garmin head unit but no transducer. After alot of research and YouTube videos, I decided that the GT56 would be my best option.
The nice thing with this transducer, is that it fit directly in my Garmin 72SV UHD without needing any adapter cables. The included cable is plenty long for any boat install as well.
It's a solid build with everything included to install it nice and clean. The unit itself is pretty long though but that is due to the side scanning ability.
Overall, I'm very happy with the unit. It's certainly on the more expensive side, however, it will unlock the potential of your head unit. (so long as it supports the features) The only issue I found is that it loses the bottom when you reach about 35/kmh. This is apparently solved by slightly angling the transducer down a bit.
Pros:
Side-Vu is amazing
Clear and detailed scan images
Cons:
Expensive
sensitive to speed

- Reviewed in Canada on February 26, 2024Verified PurchaseWe purchased this item to travel from Ontario to the Bahamas and the wires quickly rotted due to water exposure. The cables is waterproofed but even upon trying to repair the cable the wires are not colour coded in a way to easily splice a new repair.
As we are now unable to purchase a new cable our unit is less then useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great, but..........
Verified PurchaseThis is a very good transducer, but beware it is susceptible to interference from non-brushless trolling motors. Our MK Terrova will cause interference on the plotter/fish finder when running at times. We've tried moving the grounds and power cables to the TM which gave some improvements, but there's still some interference when using the FF with the TM running.

3.0 out of 5 stars Huge!
Verified PurchaseHaven’t gotten to mount it yet because it’s too big to fit on trolling motor. I would have to cut the keg off for it to fit. I am now waiting on a transducer pole to mount it! Warning if trying to mount on TM to measure first before ordering!
