Big upgrade from my Fiio E10K DAC. My previous DAC was dying so I was on the market for the replacement and this is perfect for a budget friendly, feature filled DAC. The multi mic & headphone inputs, tonal knobs really assisted in making my headphones come even more alive.

The only thing to note. I noticed it took a day or two for the DAC to fully 'warm up' or 'break in'. The initial volume was quite low but it continued to get louder over the first day or so.

I got this DAC because I was having issues with crosstalk, an issue that is (mostly) gone with this device, so that's a huge plus.

About that "mostly", so when I first started using it I had even more extreme crosstalk (the headphone signal was being leaked through to the microphone, meaning everyone on the call could hear the system sounds which was very distracting), after some debugging I found the culprit to be the included headphone/microphone adapter. I'm not sure if this is just a problem for all of these types adapters because of the common ground, but a dedicated split cable has absolutely no detectable crosstalk! Success!

I'm satisfied with this product as a result, even if I had to switch to my headset's split cable it was a reasonable compromise to make. The fact this DAC has split microphone and headphone jacks that allowed me to use my (admittedly superior) split cable is a definite selling point.

I do however have some minor issues using this with a KVM switch, since the switch power supply is limited it causes my monitors to flash when I plug it in. This is not an issue with this DAC, but be aware you may need a powered hub if you have a complicated setup and are using this in combination with other power-hungry peripherals.

Overall, I like it, and I would buy it again.

Purchased this audio DAC because i was excited to see that FOSI AUDIO had just come out with a DAC that included headphone microphone input. I was an early adopter of this product and actually paid a premium price through amazon USA, shipped to Canada. I knew the similar FOSI Q4 had an excellent reputation for sound quality but unfortunately did not suit me because of the lack of microphone input.

In come the FOSI AUDIO K5 MINI PRO.. I had to give this DAC a try. As soon as you handle this product you know you are getting a quality piece of equipment. Setup is easy, all you do is plug it into your computers USB port. No driver install, just tell your computer to play the audio from the device in your sound setup. Even comes with a dongle to allow for a combined audio/mic headphone set to plug into the separate jacks on the device.

Audio quality - 10/10 excellent and an absolute steal for the asking price that I am now seeing on amazon as of DEC 29/2022

Microphone quality - 10/10 If you online game your friends are going to think you have a very fancy microphone with this DACs ability to amplify the microphone input. It can be almost too clear and loud on some headsets but this can be adjusted in the windows input microphone level settings and turned down.

I did need to get support from FOSI and they immediately and quickly helped me with my advanced technical question and had my device working well with all my equipment. (I use quite a few different headphones w/mics and had an issue with one of them which FOSI solved)

This K5 MINI PRO is on par with some of the very expensive DACS out there.

There is only two features I wish that FOSI would add. Some sort of "go to sleep mode" and "auto wakeup on sensing sound" to have this unit automatically turn off after say 30min of inactivity and wake itself when needed. The other would be a volume adjuster for the microphone input. These are just wishes to make an already excellent product even better.

You will not be disappointed with this product.

I was looking for headphone amp with sufficient power to use with some of my harder to drive headphones. I��ve had the Fosi Q4 amp for a while which is excellent for lower impedance headphones but struggled a bit with higher impedance ones. I saw this Fosi K5 amp had the same features I liked from the Q4 while being more powerful so it seemed like a nice upgrade. So far it��s performing great, plenty of power for harder to drive headphones and it only requires one usb c cable for power and data unlike the Q4 that required seperate cables for power and data. I can also report that it doesn��t have the volume control issues that the Q4 model has with windows. The only feature I wish both the Q4 and K5 model had was an option to control output so I could have both my speakers and headphones connected and control which one the sound comes out of instead of both at the same time. If anyone from Fosi reads this then maybe this could be added to a future model.

It drives a bayerdynamic 990pro headset. This is what amazon recommended for the headphones.
These headphones are 250 ohms, so they need more power, but they don't meet my expectations. The volume is just right, but the bass, treble and volume are all set to maximum. And even so, it would be nice if he had more power!
Tested with a JBL headphone with fewer ohms, it drives normally.
It was a good buy for me until I had a bigger amplifier. In the end, I am satisfied with the product.
