I bought this bell ringer to put in my garage so I could hear the phone when I'm working in my garage or in my driveway. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. when the phone rings, it sound a very loud alarm so I can tell the phone is ringing. I can be 20-30 feet away and still hear it. Update: i had contacted the seller about the issues and they offered a full refund. I respect this seller for making it right. Garbage! The description indicates it has a low, high and off settings to the ringer. It has no off setting. I bought it for the flashing light indicated. Did not want sound. Cheaply made. When moving switch up and down, the lever pushes into the body of the unit. I wish I had tested it before my return period ended. Got stuck with two of them.

I bought this for my elderly mother who is hard of hearing and does not hear her phone ring when she is not wearing her hearing aids. This rings slightly louder than my land line, but at a higher pitch, which is harder for older people to hear. The light on it blinks red. Red is the colour of light they use to not disturb your sleep, so this won't wake her up if she gets a call while she is asleep. Not a helpful product.
