These female replacement plugs do not carry any electrical certification certificates therefore caution is advised. Opening these up, I found that the connection posts are brass with stainless (I believe) steel screws. But those screws have small heads with no ridges to grip the conductors. They do not provide adequate connection for wire above 18 AWG. Moreover, neither strain relief nor wire clamping is provided so it is very easy for the individual wires to come out and provide poor connection. Which could be disastrous. So these plugs should only be used for short lengths of thinner cables.

    These are absolute garbage. My is an electrician. Couldn’t get the cord into it because the entrance hole is too small and is not adjustable. The wire connections have no way of securing the wire properly Impossible and ridiculous to work with.

    So, they really should have avoided the cheap hard plastic they used, as it can crack during cold weather, and feel like garbage. That said, on the 2 extension cords I fixed with these, they work perfectly, and took only minutes to install. I now have 3 of my longest cords repaired, and spares for when needed!

    These work fine. Assembly can be frustrating as the metal tabs easily fall out. It’s one of those things that need three hands - one to hold the plug and metal part, one to hold the wire, and one for the screw driver. And I have to take it apart again because I forgot to put the shell one the cable first LOL.
