Very nice!
Works fantastic on my 2 types of wooden utensil handles! Lasts for a few weeks too, would absolutely last longer but I put my utensils in the dishwasher so it strips the oils much quicker (lol). Soaks in great and fixed all the cracks in the handles!! I wish I had a before photo but this is an after! Doesn't change the wood colour at all either, just seals perfectly.

    Former professional cook turned amateur home cook here. I don't normally write reviews but had to in this case. In the last few years I was getting concerned with all the talk around microplastics so last year I decided to switch all of my cutting boards and most of my cooking utensils from plastic to wood. The downside of that decision is I have no experience with wood in the kitchen. I bought a few cheap cutting boards for daily use and one really good quality one from Williams and Sonoma for carving and special occasions. I started to notice that they were not looking as good anymore, so they needed some TLC. I went down the rabbit hole of looking into repairing them and after hours online and a few visits to cooking stores I ended up at a local woodworking shop. One of the guys there tipped me off about the Beaver Wood treatment products. He told me that it's what he used on his stuff at home and in all honestly that was good enough for me. When I got home I checked out their Instagram and liked what I saw even more. Canadian owned - check, female-founded company - check, eco-friendly products - check! That's just what I was looking for. I checked out some of the reviews and once it arrived I gave them a shot. I started out with some of our cheaper cutting boards and after the oil and the conditioning cream the cheap boards looked better than our fancy expensive one! And the fancy expensive one? All I can say is WOW!! Both of these products cost a fraction of the cost of replacing even one of our cheaper cutting boards and instantly extended the life of them both! Next up were the wooden spoons and spatulas and I couldn't have been happier with the results. After that I was walking around the house looking for anything made of wood to try this out on. Will 100% be buying again!!!!

    First off, I love that this is a Canadian company; discovering new Canadian small businesses has been one of my goals for sure. I actually don't have a lot of experience with oils like this to help restore wood, but I'm trying to learn more about proper care of tools and thought this would be a good place to start.

    The product came really fast and there was no damage or anything. This oil is easy to use, doesn't really have a smell, and absorbs into the board nicely. A little goes a long way when spreading it, as long as you stick to the directions and apply it in long strokes. Once I gave it a few hours to dry, the wood definitely felt revived to me. I have a picture of my wooden cutting board before and after using it. Before, my board was very parched and starting to near splitting territory but was so much more hydrated afterward.

    I would definitely recommend using something less absorbing to apply it though because my towel rag took more of the oil than it probably needed to. Otherwise, I like it a lot and think it's a pretty solid board oil.

    This cutting board oil is essentially no different than any other food grade cutting board oil I've bought over the years, it's clear and runny and has no real scent to it. A little bit of oil goes a long way and if you're thorough with your initial application (if using on a brand new board) you really don't need to reapply very often. Easy to use, just squirt some on the board and I like to use a paper towel to spread it around evenly. Give it some time to soak in then if it still looks "dry" repeat until satisfied and then give a quick final wipe. It soaks in pretty quickly.

    It's great that this is made here in Canada (not sure I'd completely trust this kind of product coming from random factory overseas) but compared to other North American made cutting board oils it is kind of pricey for the quantity.

I applied the oil with a microfiber cloth, using long and slow strokes (as instructed). The wood soaked up the oil quickly and the table looks refreshed after just one application. I like the product but don't find it different from or better than other board oils on the market. The bottle and the name of the product are cute.

    I gotta say I had NEVER heard that we were supposed do anything else with cutting boards and other utensils that are made with wood other than just washing them like you wash everything else. So when I saw this product I wasn’t sure if it was a scam or if I was way more ignorant when it comes to housekeeping than I would like to admit. It turns out it was the latter. I’ve had many cutting boards before and had a few of them split down the middle before, some became uneven over time, but thought it was just natural wear and tear from using it often and that everyone else had went through the same issue and would just have to buy a new cutting board every couple of years. It turns out wood dries out and if you don’t care for it properly it cracks, bends and ends up on a landfill before its time. Now that I have learned and found a quality product I believe I’m gonna be saving $ down the road with kitchen utensils and won’t be creating any more extra waste from products that ended up breaking due to lack of proper care. My cutting board and my wooden spoons are looking fresh and healthy. They absorbed the oil very quickly and that alone tells me how much they were lacking in hydration.
    If you are worried about having the oil contaminating your food just make sure you treat your cutting board and kitchen utensils after using and washing them in the evening, before going to bed, so they have many hours to fully soak up the oil before it’s time for you to use them again.

    I have some wood cutting boards that I have not been caring for the way I should have been. I would apply some mineral oil to the surfaces on occasion when I would remember, but not really apply the oil well and treat the board correctly. If you want your equipment to last a long time, you need to treat it correctly.

    This oil helped me bring my cutting boards back to life. Thank goodness I had not let them go too far. I applied the oil according to the directions and the cutting boards looked beautiful, back to their original glory. I willl be using this oil as directed in the future to protect and and extend the life of my wood based utensils and cutting boards. This is a great product.
