Initially when i purchased this unit i ran into some crashed. I purchased this as an upgrade to my Carlinkit 3.0 which worked great for years and i wanted something with faster connection and bette connectivity.
When i got the unit i immediately went ahead and upgraded the software and in my case that was a mistake as it started causing crashed. I worked with the support team and they guided me and i rolled back the software and since then i've had a great experience.
The uni connects noticably faster than my Carlinkit 3.0 to my carplay and the audio/video sync is much more stable even at the 300ms rate which is greatly appreciated.
My GPS keeps up precise location as well. Over all the carlinkit 5 is a nice improvement compared to Carlinkit 3.0 and the customer service is also fantastic.
My 2 cents though...keep the software that that unit ships with. Updating cause issues (at leat for me)
p.s i like the new U.I layout! looks much nicr than the previous one

Was very excited for this product, and it worked great for about 3 weeks. Now, its completely crapped out on me. I tested using a cord and the Apple CarPlay works just fine, but with the wireless it just freezes up our whole screen and you can't do anything. Tried to run product support, I reset the device, checked for updates, etc., and still nothing works. If you need a product that will only work for a few weeks, then this is great. If you're looking for a longer term solution though, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I’ll check again during the summer time and find out how hot it gets. 2 complaint I have initial setup the audio was choppy, had to update the unit, and connection is a little slow, it will take 20-30 for CarPlay to start working.
