Donut fits my butt

- Reviewed in Canada on January 25, 2025Verified PurchaseDidn't get a lot of use out of it, but it worked great while I had it. Good quality, supported my weight fine.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 27, 2022Verified PurchaseGreat cushion for working from home on a hard wooden chair for hours. Had an expensive memory foam one that felt good for about 1 week, then compressed and felt fairly hard still causing a sore derriere. This feels like sitting on a water bed or those bouncy castles! But it is hard to inflate. It can be blown by mouth, but the top screw has a hole at the top which allows air to escape until fully tightened. After trying to use my fingers to hold it close until fully tightened and being unsuccessful, I got a Q- tip and stuck it in the hole which gave me time to tighten without losing air.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 6, 2022Verified PurchaseInjured tailbone made sitting a nightmare. This donut has been a game changer for me.
Pros: IT WORKS!!! wasn't expensive and doesn't leak (I've been sitting on it for months and only had to add air once)
Cons: IT STINKS, not easy to fill with air (can do it with lungs but valve is impossible to close without letting some out... which is ok because when full as possible it's not comfy for the butt).
Another reviewer said she wraps a towel around it to keep the smell off her clothes... I tried that but it's only good for a while before the towel starts to reek and when I washed them they made the rest of my laundry smell gross, so I stick my donut in a kitchen catcher garbage bag (unsealed) to help keep the smell off my towel, whatever I'm sitting on, and even the room I'm sitting in - works well, I've been using the same one for 2 weeks now.
Highly recommended as long as you wrap it and don't fully inflate.
Happy sitting :)
- Reviewed in Canada on October 6, 2024Verified PurchaseThis product is comfortable to sit on if you can get past the foul rubber smell.
I used it one night, my pyjamas stank,
my comforter stank, I had to wash everything that it touched. I placed it on my living room chair and the smell won't go away.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 23, 2023Verified PurchaseWorks well.... smells bad.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 9, 2022Verified PurchaseI fell down the stairs for the second time in two years, but at least they were carpeted this time. Still, having a sore tailbone sucks! The material for this ring is closer to that of a hot water bottle, not as thick, but still the same kind of rubber. Once inflated, it's quite comfortable and, so far, is holding my 200lb+ bulk comfortably.
The only drawback is the inflation valve. It's made of brass, sticks out at the rear of the ring, and doesn't depress into the product like the plastic inflatables. That's fine by me. However, it seems a really weird design that none of my pump adapters fit into. It twists open, much like a Presta valve for a bicycle tube, and the two pieces can separate and screw back together. But like I said, none of my adapters fit, so I ended up blowing it up by mouth, which really wasn't too hard except you have to keep your finger over the end while you take a breath so you don't lose any air. Seriously, it's 2022 and I think you can do better!
Anyway, overall it's (for me) a minor inconvenience on an otherwise terrific product. For anyone with respiratory issues it could be a major issue, though.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 25, 2022Verified PurchaseThis is quite possibly the best possible chair.
As an alternative to the repose pressure ulcer cushion,
https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Pressure-Relieving-Cushion-Pump/dp/B012OETJMY
This seat is incredible. The only thing that I will need to measure is the space between cheeks while siting on the toilet and sitting in this chair. If you sit on the toilet for too long it can cause pressure on your rectum and anus. which is the benefit of the repose pressure ulcer cushion as it is square.
The seat is so responsive. It is a "large prostate". The veins of rectum and anal canal. Just as eating a large meal can make the blood pool and cause tiredness, dizziness, a fissure, (that is why small meals are important, especially fibre, pumpkin seeds, nutrition). Buy one, or ten of them! Give one to a friend. And, If you sit in a set without any pressure now, imagine the cost savings when you turn 60. Think of the healthcare savings. I guess that's why ergonomics, the washer and dryer, and dentistry led to an increase in life expectancy - and quality of life.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 18, 2025Verified PurchaseThe smell really did it for me. I'm usually pretty good with strong smells but this one was too much for me and smell like something was rotting. I also couldnt adequately inflate it, so I think you need a pump. Too bad I really needed it.
