Great light weight portable toilet for seniors
This portable toilet has a nice design, and my mom didn't feel uncomfortable sitting on it for a while. But I don't know if a heavier person would be unstable sitting on it. It took me 10 minutes to assemble it. The instructions are not very detailed, and the pictures are not very clear, making it difficult to determine the position of each part. But I like the click locking device used on each joint, which makes it convenient even if you need to disassemble it. The height can be adjusted to 5 positions just like my clothes drying rack, and it is very stable at the highest position. I don't quite understand why the title says it can be folded. I guess it might actually mean that it can be disassembled quickly with those click locks. The bucket is not very big, so there may be some splashing. The lid is very light, and it can't be sealed when covered. If it has been used overnight, the room will smell bad in the morning. I wish the lid had some kind of rubber sealing.

    My mature mother is experiencing a temporary loss of bladder control due to pre-existing health issues and often cannot walk to the washroom in time. The availability of this portable commode was extremely timely and I purchased it for her.

    The commode itself feels sturdy and I assembled it in approximately 20 minutes (assembly instructions are included). It weighs about 10 pounds and is easy to pick up and move around. It can also be used as a shower chair and a bedside chair to assist with rising from bed (although care should be exercised as the chair cannot be fixed in place on the floor and will move if weight is applied against it).

    The bucket is well-designed for use and convenience as there is a carry handle and a lid.

    The height of the chair is adjustable to five different heights and is comfortable for prolonged use.

    My mother keeps the commode chair right beside her bed and uses it several times a day. She finds it to be comfortable and both sitting down onto the chair and rising up from it are straight-forward as long as she is aware that she should not lean onto it as the feet cannot be locked in place on the floor.

    As long as one's personal safety is kept in mind while using this chair, it is a time-saving and much-needed aid.

    We should be able to give ½ stars. This would be 4½ stars.

    It's a very good commode (I've had three others I can compare with. They were for my mother who passed 10 years ago).

    1- It is heavy duty and solid
    2- The seat is very comfortable although not padded (see remarks on this further down)
    3- Height is fully adjustable for smaller or taller persons.
    Where it lost ½ star is the arm rest. They are hard plastic and not very comfortable if you're going to sit over 5 minutes. But you can roll some towels around and the problem is solved.

    This is for me and wife for later in life if we need it. You NEVER know it can happen all of a sudden without warning. I learned that from what happened with my mom who I kept home until her passing.

    Secondly. If you ever need (and you will but maybe not all) special need equipment you'll find that it's a business and cost a lot. Better get ready while you have the money.

    About comfort for these. Many you will see have cushions but they are much less comfortable than ones like these. Some can even hurt you (scratch your very light skin as it is older and even make you bleed) as the material is rough and stitch of material is bad). Some are also "sticky" when you sit on them. This one, believe me is perfect.

    If you want to try comfort their are cushions you can buy for commodes that are a addon and well made.

    Excellent buy.

    I got the Careboda bedside commode chair for my mom, and it’s been very helpful so far. The extra-wide seat and 350-pound weight capacity provide stability and comfort, and the folding steel frame makes it easy to move or store when she's not using it. It feels sturdy and well built which makes it a great option for my mom. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone.

    Careboda Bedside Commode Chair is relatively easy to put together. The clicking lock (the marble as they refer to it) sometimes has a hard time positioning and the instructions aren't very clear; pictures or words. I got really confused with the commode since there are 3 pieces and they just refer to it as one so I am not understanding where that splash guard goes and what it really does in this case since it just sits inside the pail without stopping any splashes. The seat doesn't really sit flat when closed but that doesn't matter much; it is just aesthetics. It is easy to adjust and pretty darn stable. It does have some shakiness side to side, they really should have put a cross bar through but it is stable for full weight. I do not understand their folding claim...nothing folds unless they mean closing the toilet seat. It is a decent commode and lightweight for easy moving; the pail with handle could be thicker but it does the job plus it can also serve as a cottage outhouse :) Comparatively speaking though, their price is higher than others even in-store.

    This Careboda commode chair is wide, steady, and holds up to 350 lbs. You can adjust the height, and it comes with a large bucket that’s easy to clean. The seat could be softer for longer sitting.
