- Reviewed in Canada on June 22, 2025Verified PurchaseI bought it for electrolyte balance, as my doctor told me that it plays a crucial role in maintaining electrolyte balance in the body. It is essential for the proper functioning of cells, nerves, and muscles. The compound helps to "prevent and treat low levels of potassium in your body".
- Reviewed in Canada on August 23, 2024Verified PurchaseI bought this bag of Potassium Bicarbonate after I got a nasty powdery mildew outbreak across most of my garden soil. Prior to trying this, I tried cinnamon (which everyone on the internet swears by) as well as removing the top 2 inches of soil and replacing it with new top soil. Neither worked, likely because the mildew was too severe. I decided to ultimately go with Potassium Bicarbonate after a lot of research because it's the only treatment that actually kills powdery mildew on contact but doesn't kill birds and beneficial insects like bees. Although things like baking soda and milk solutions have also been found to be effective, they keep the mildew from spreading but don't kill it. I've done 4 once a week treatments with the following mixture: 1 Tbsp Potassium Bicarbonate + 1 Tbsp Liquid Castille soap + 4 Litres of water. I've poured that mixture over the soil using a watering can and used it to spray my plants. It's significantly reduced (95%) the powdery mildew. My garden is not 100% powdery mildew free and some of my plants got leaf scald during my use of it (a few died) but overall it's done a great job. I don't know of any other product that kills powdery mildew on contact and has less of an environmental impact.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 26, 2025Verified Purchase1g of this stuff will get you the potassium in 4 extra strength pills for a fraction of the price. Tastes terrible in high doses though
- Reviewed in Canada on October 22, 2024Verified PurchaseBut don’t spray your buds direct. It might burn your pistils and completely scorched a big bud to the point it had to be scrapped. My other stuff didn’t do that. It works for WPM, can’t deny that. Will have to tweak my formula before using it again, that’s all. The bag is huge! Great price for the quantity and showed up nice and quick. I might even fill a larger sprayer and treat my lawn with it in the spring, that’s how large the bag is.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 18, 2025Verified PurchaseBag’s corner was cut and appeared to be resealed. I wasn’t comfortable using that since the contents could’ve been exposed and contaminated.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 1, 2024Verified PurchaseDoes wonders at killing powdery mildew without hurting the plant. About a teaspoon per litre of water with the surfactant of your choosing ( a drop or two of dish soap works fine), make with distilled water for more sensitive plants.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 24, 2023Verified PurchaseI bought this product to use for a recipe to spray on vegetables to kill powdery mildew. If you are consistent with the application, it actually works! You can easily look online to get the recipe as I don't remember it offhand. It was a mixture of potassium bicarbonate, Dawn liquid dish soap and water. I put the mixture in a hand pump sprayer and sprayed my tomatoes and zucchinis and comfrey to stop the mildew. It did not hurt the plants and works better than other recipes I have tried. I recommend this product. (It can also be used as a dietary supplement).
