I'm an oyster farmer on the west coast of Vancouver Island BC, Canada 🇨🇦. I grow my oysters suspended under 24'x24' wooden rafts. Last couple of years I had tremendous invasion of sealions resting on my rafts. I was afraid that those heavy beasts could trash and destroy my rafts. I decided to put up a electric fence around the perimeter of each raft. My choice of this energizer was dictated by economical price and many good reviews. It delivers a powerful jolt, and I know that for a fact touching the fence accidentally. It runs on 12v deep cycle battery, which is charged for a 100 watt solar panel. I just hooked it up and so far it is keeping the sealions away from my rafts. Thanks AgriOtter 😊

    I bought this unit early last year, but didn't actually install it until this year (2024). The unit setup was great for controlling predators from getting to our sheep, initially....after about 3 months of use, the indicator/ pulse light stopped working... I removed the unit and did a bench top test on it to eliminate any potential installation issues....I tested the unit output and it will barley light up my tester. It's toast!

    Due to the length of time that I waited to do the installation, of course the warranty is no longer valid. This is understandable. I have basically thrown $100.00 away on this unit. I don't think that there is any recourse at this time.

    I bought this 6 months ago. It works better than any other brand I've had. I'm honestly terrified of it, and so are my animals. I've been shocked by it a few times and it puts me on my rear, confused, asking for mommy.

    I mounted it indoors to avoid water damage as many other reviews said they weren't great in the weather. Seems sturdy so far.

    Seems like a decent device, packs a good wallop. Big problem is that the cheap little cords that run to the battery won't make connection inside the device to power it, unless you hold it there with a twisting pressure. Couldn't be bothered returning, I'll just stick tinfoil in there to make it work, but won't likely buy again from same company.

    I have an electric fence to protect my garden/orchard and my old fencer died. I have a few cheap fence testers. This unit maxes out the 7k tester with full bright lights and dimly lights the 10k light on the other. I'm using a full 6' ground rod and would be hesitant to use the little ground spike included.

    I have 2 minor complaints. 1. The indicator light is very dim. You can hear the fencer way before you can see the light. 2. A power switch is handy in my application and this enegrizer has none. ( I fixed this with a switched outdoor extension cord)

    Too soon to know the longevity for me, but so far I'm very pleased for the price point.

    DO NOT BUY. Ordered this April 7th, arrived April 10. Other parts for the fence were delayed until April 26th. Installed the fence that weekend and it stopped working May 7th. Tried to do a return that weekend (May 10) after scrambling to replace it same day, and I’m being told my return period ended May 8. Unbelievable. Wish we listened to the other reviews, absolute garbage product.

    After emailing the company about my issue, they responded and sent me a replacement. The new unit is noticeably higher quality, with a better power plug port and different looking front.

    Old review: I was really excited to use this energizer but after 1 month of it barely working it stopped turning on completely. The LED light did turn on when I first plugged it in, but the shock was weak so I thought my problem was the ground. I purchased a 7 foot grounding rod and put it over 4 feet into the ground and attached my ground wire with a grounding clamp. The next time I plugged in the energizer it failed to turn on, no LED light and no shock at all. I emailed the company Agri-Otter but have not received a response yet.
    I spent hundreds of dollars on accessories like a grounding rod, t-posts, fencing, insulators and wiring just to find out the energizer doesn’t work.

    I purchased this Feb 21, 2022 and didn't get around to installing it until May. I checked on it today Oct. 19, 2022 and it's dead. So I got less than six months out of this Energizer. I was initially so impressed by the high output and ease of insulation that I purchased a slightly less powerful one on August 19, 2022 for a different fence line. I regret that now but will be replacing the dead one with that one. Hopefully I can get at least a full six months from *that one*.

    Reasons why I initially bought Agriotter: They are a Canadian based company and I support not sending manufacturing overseas. Very high output, and when it worked my animals respected this fence and so did predators. Very reasonable price. The ability to easily switch to a battery if needed.

    Reasons why I won't be buying another: Low life expectancy. I haven't asked if they would replace it because I don't want another Agriotter Energizer. It's not worth the risk of my livestock's lives having to police my Energizer.
