Great, but..
Beginner TIG user here. Done torch & MIG/stick for years. Bought the Arccaptain 200P ACDC a few weeks ago & thought I'd try the pedal. It came with 3 cables, only one of them fit and I had apparently reversed the connections and it didn't work, but once it was plugged in correctly, all was OK. The plug/cable pinout is NOT symmetrical (wiring pic attached). Works well, BUT, depending on your auto helmet, switching via the pedal between very low & high current can cause flashes as the cheap helmet decides to turn off & on (low current=low light=helmet turns off). Also, I believe one needs to be sitting in a fairly comfortable position to use the pedal, otherwise it's like standing up trying to control your car's gas pedal. Might have to grab one of those adjustable swivel stools. My 2 cents anyway!

    Please note: the mx16 connector on both ends look similar, but the pin configuration is not the same. Make sure you connect the right end to the pedal and the machine, or it will not work. If it doesn't work, reverse the connectors. Note to arccaptain: you should identify both ends with a label, so that we know which end goes to the pedal and which end goes to the machine. The label "machine link" to me and probably most people only means that it's the cable to link the pedal to the machine. The other cable that comes with the pedal has a quick connect and an mx16 connector, people would never mix that up because certain machines came with a quick connect on them.

    Not all 5 pin foot pedals are the same. So keep that in mind. Overall the pedal feels very rugged and has a good resistance all the way down. But there is some side to side slop in it. I however bought the wrong pedal this one is wired differently than my welder was supposed to take. So I ended up stripping the cable and rewiring it to work with my welder but unfortunately it is only letting me use a total of 106A instead of the full 200A when it's wired properly. So that means the potentiometer has a lower range than my welder is supposed to use. Overall I would definitely recommend this pedal but just make sure you get the right pedal for your welder

    I bought this pedal for my ArcCaptain TIG200 welder. It works well to contol the current when welding stainless and is comfortable to use. I used it to build my custom stainless exhaust system.
