    Although the magnet is different from the original John Deere clutch (it is two pieces rather than one large), it looked well built and seemed as rugged on the original. The wire is not permanently attached but I don't believe this will an issue. It installed perfectly and the instructions supplied were well written and explained everything you need to know. ***It even includes a section to "burn" the plates before using it, make sure you follow this. Finally, my blades are back to a very smooth and soft starts.

    Used it to cut grass on my 2 acres lot and had zero issues. Only time will tell if it will last 12years like the original clutch.

    Perfect replacement for John Deere x500. Arrived much sooner than the initial ETA. Found a video on YouTube that explains how to attach the anti-rotation bolt that sits on the top of the clutch. New wire was a perfect replacement. Had to use a socket wrench on the top of the motor and a torque wrench on the bottom to get 55 foot-pounds. I've already got 3 hours in with the new clutch. Saved at least $350 by doing the work myself. Going to order another and keep one spare on hand at all times. The positive reviews were the ultimate factor in making a decision to purchase.
