    This solar ground lighting four pack feels pretty solid right out of the box. The lights look sleek and have a little weight to them. The mounting brackets attach to the included stakes or screwed onto solid surfaces. The pucks twist lock onto the brackets. It takes a little force to twist lock them into place. The on / off switch is on the bottom and the unit is IP65 rated. They charged well and stayed lit most of the night. The light is non-directional and covers a decent area for the size of the lights. The stakes seem a little short and might not hold the pucks in place in very soft soil or mud. Having the option to change from warm to cool white lighting would be a plus. I wanted to add accent lighting to some of our holiday displays. This light set did the job nicely. We had a friendly game of Skelly Bonehole going to keep the group entertained until Halloween night. The guys had no complaints about seeing the board. After the holidays are over we are going to use these around the yard to see where we might want to install permanent lighting.

    The size and form of these four solar disk lights are similar to hockey pucks. They are easy to place anywhere you want to because they are lightweight and portable. You have a lot of options for where you can use them such as in the garden, on a deck, or even in the grass beside a sidewalk. To be honest, you don't need to use the supplementary stakes that are included in the box if you're setting them on a hard surface but you will want them if you are in softer ground like sand or grass. To tie them down to a surface, you can use zip ties, adhesive, or screws into the surface to hold them in place. You don't have to bother about running any electricity to them, thus the options are virtually limitless. Having said that, I have tried other solar disks and felt that their designs were a little more modern. These just shine from the top, while other ones I have also light from the sides, which I think create a fuller light effect. Additionally, you may only use the cool white hue with these. Generally, I like having a variety of color selections, however the white light works fine in areas where you want a more elegant appearance.

    These throw a nice glowing light. Not too bright, but definitely sufficient to light the edge of a flower bed or the margins of a pathway. The problem I had is that one of the four lights didn't work. I went out to check if they had all come on when it got dark and one was still off. I picked it up to be sure that the on/off switch was in the proper position and it flickered. So I tried to find out what was causing the problem and it seemed that if I squeezed the light, it came on. The minute I released it, it no longer worked. Some contact inside the casing of that particular light isn't quite coming together as it should. There is nothing I can screw together tighter to remedy the situation. That one light is just defective. If all 4 lights worked, I would have given them 5 stars. But since only 3 of the 4 worked, I couldn't go higher than 3 stars. UPDATE: I was driving in my driveway this evening, and the light that hadn't been working was actually on. So I bumped the review up to 4 stars. Clearly there is something a bit unreliable about one of the lights, but as of tonight all four are on, so that's good.
