The original zip case that comes with the steam deck is far too bulky.
Not a problem with this hard shell case, it’s much more slim and fitted to the device. The rubber strips inside the case grip the steam deck and keep it from shifting around. The cut out for the charge port is great too

This case is well-thought-out. First, there are rubber bands inside to prevent the console from moving and scratching the back. There is an opening where the charging port is located so you can charge your Steam Deck while it's in its case and in a backpack. The console doesn't move at all even when I shake the whole thing, the measurements are exact. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is no protection for the screen. There is a gap but I wish there was another strip of rubber protecting the screen itself. I would recommend using a screen protector. That being said, I still really like this case and I will use it.

Nice minimalist case that reduces the footprint quite a bit for carrying in a sling bag (Bellroy Venture Sling 9L)
Provides plenty of protection. Note that if you have raised back buttons they won’t fit in the case.
