Looks great! The body of the can is stainless steel and has a great appeal but wait until the link to lid breaks, which does not take very long. When the bottom lid is opened to empty the bin, the link in the lid breaks. We've had to buy the same bin TWICE (nope, I'm not kidding) because when it broke the first time, we ordered for the lid and the lid arrived with parts missing. We spent a week chatting with their customer service to send videos of the bin from all angles and they say that their out of stock!!! We returned it and got another one, same story, exactly two days! If investing so much, I suggest you spend it on known brands that offer more sturdy bins.

I can’t believe I paid $150 for a trash can!! When I think about that, I really think I’ve lost my mind! But…I loved the look for this can. I love that it has the recycle and trash bin in one container. I was tired of the two trash bins that I had before. The soft close lid is great. And for my husband, there is no specific area to swipe your hand over in order to get the lid to open. Just step on the foot pedal. It boasts that is fingerprint and smudge resistant, time will tell. It feels pretty sturdy and the slim design works well in my kitchen walkway.

Now, I’m disappointed that I have to return it because it has a dent on the front. I tried to let it go and say it’s no big deal. But just could t wrap my head around paying so much for a trash can and it’s not in PERFECT condition. And it was packaged well, so how the dent got there, I don’t know. So now I have to pack this huge box and take it to be returned.

This is a great looking bin which fits the space I have well & matches the finish of my cooker etc. the mechanism is smooth, quiet & appears sturdy.
I have only given this 3 stars because it only comes with one inner plastic bin (for the recycling side) & lifts out for easy emptying. The general waste side of the bin has to make do with a plastic bag bin liner only - which is going to get messy if the bag is punctured or rips.
The info states their bags are strong & are a bespoke size for the bin but are ridiculously expensive compared to other supermarket bin liners. Not only do they save a (very small) amount by only providing one - not 2 proper inner bins but it appears to be a cynical marketing ploy to force you to keep buying their own bin liners at a massively inflated price.

The lid is just a flat lid, no lip to it to seal the top of the trashcan to ensure smells don't emanate. The lip in the picture you see isn't part of the lid but a secondary component that you lift, place your trash bag on the right side trash bin and then close that lip to hide the trash bag rim. (see my pictures) That flat lid slightly lifts and doesn't properly close. So we are having to make sure we take the trash out more frequently before things start to smell up the kitchen. The other critique I have is that the trashcan side doesn't come out, not like the recycle bin does. You can lift the recycle bin out, but not the trashcan side. That could be a problem if your bag breaks and leaks inside that can. Other trash cans allow you to at least lift out the inner trashcan for cleaning. For the price this seems a bit pricey, considering some of the flaws.

I like Simple Human products, and needed an attractive, compact trash and recycling container for our vacation rental. This seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I was troubled by �鶹��'s warning that this item was frequently returned and to check the reviews for more information. I did but couldn't find a review that explained why it was being returned. Most were glowing. �鶹�� makes a competing product, but it didn't fit my spot. So I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived on time, late in the evening the day before Thanksgiving. The box was undamaged in any way, so I was shocked to remove the item to discover two huge dents in the side. I double checked the box and it was perfect --completely undamaged. As we were heading home to the other side of the country right after Thanksgiving, there was not time to return it, so my son gently worked on it and managed to turn the huge dents into small dents and we will just live with it. But I am still angry to have paid so much for a damaged item. Whoever packaged it had to know it was damaged. It was probably a return that they sold as a new item. Not cool.

It is an elegant design, looks attractive in the kitchen, has a large foot pedal that extends around so you can open from pretty much any angle. The recycling bucket is deep, so holds a lot for such a small profile, but it is challenging to reach the bottom to clean, and while you can use 13 gallon standard trash bags on the trash side, they will not reach the bottom. Simple Human sells bags that fit properly and has the dispenser to keep the extras right inside the bin, if you want to pay the premium.

If I had got this at a "scratch and dent" sale I would have been content. As it is, I am pretty disappointed.
