I have been using a vertical mouse for over 10 years now. It has helped reduce the pain I get in the hand. Just by rotating the wrist and being vertical, it really makes a big difference.
Over the years, I have tried many different shapes of mice, and this one is actually fairly standard in its profile. The only unique part is the palm rest.
In general, this was comfortable to use. It has a good shape for holding, with a sizable ledge for the thumb to rest. Some mice require users to clamp really hard to keep hold, but here, the hand can be fairly relaxed and the mouse will still follow the hand around. The palm rest definitely helps in that regard. It allows the palm to guide the mouse, not just with the fingers.
The palm rest is an interesting concept. I would say though if you are using the right mouse, it is not really a necessary feature. It didn't feel any more comfortable than the other mice I have used. Perhaps because my hand is slightly above the recommended medium measurement, it didn't give the desired result effect.
Normally when I use a smaller mouse, I would just slide my hand down to suit. But in doing so, the palm may not sit properly and overhangs past the edge of the rest. When moving the mouse, especially down and towards the body, the meaty part of the palm can get caught under the lip. It's really subtle and while it is not painful, it is enough for it to feel awkward. It wasn't that big of a deal, but I can see larger hands users struggle a bit more with this.
The button and the scroll wheel work well. I did find the right click button to be a bit low, but that may be due to my large hand. The side button is also too close to the edge and thumb placement. It got pushed a few times by accident just from my thumb moving.
This is the first time that I have received anti-slip strips with the mouse. I personally didn't have any problems with the mouse as is. The mouse already has a mat finish, which helps prevent sliding. It is a thoughtful feature nonetheless. I might have put it on if it was colour matched to the original mouse.
Overall this is a solid product. The mouse works well. The mouse connected right away, and works as it should. The price is in line with other wireless vertical mice as well.
Five stars.
