  3. What is oogiebear made of?

    oogiebear is made with bpa-free silicone that's easy for parents to hold yet gentle enough for the baby. The firm plastic tips were designed to remove boogers and ear wax effectively!

    Cotton Swab vs. oogiebear?

    While cotton swabs seem like a good resource for little noses and boogers, they are not best for babies. Cotton swabs sometimes work, but they're not effective in pulling both the dry and sticky stuff out.

    Would this work for say removing a pea?

    oogiebear is intended for removing mucus and ear wax only and should never be used in any other way.

Effective nose cleaning tools; nose sucker works well on moist ‘build-up’
These tools are well-designed to allow you to remove visible ‘stuff’ from your baby’s nose and ears safely. We have a 4-week-old, so this is mostly dried milk after being coughed up and can be either dried up or still fresh/gooey. The tips on the tipped cleaner are a fairly rigid plastic and don’t deform when pulling, but there is give in the handle to limit inadvertent force. The bear design looks nice, and limits how far you can put the tool into your baby’s nose. Our son has no issue with us cleaning his nose or ears with this tool, though he can get upset when removing gooey ones from his nose - he doesn’t react to removal of more dried ones. The nose sucker works really well – most moist material is sucked out in a couple of pumps (squeeze the bulb away from your child’s nose, insert the tip into the nose, then release). Sometimes residual needs to be cleaned out with the other cleaner after. These tools are really handy to keep your child’s nose and ears clean safely, and in way that isn’t too bothersome to your little one.

    This product is great! My 4 month old barely cries when we use it. It’s also super easy to clean. We tried an electric one on him at the same time and it barely took anything out. I’m telling everyone I know to get this. The stick is also helpful to remove little boogers from the edge of his nose. It’s a great product. Easy to use, easy to clean and relatively done without a fuss. My baby likes to put his hands around it too and you can make it fun instead of something scary. We used hydrasense and then used this item on his nose. The two together are a perfect pair.

    We already have a battery-powered booger suction machine which failed miserably! We decided to give this manual suction bear and its companion snoot scoop. While the suction of the bear is much stronger than the electric suction machine (surprise, I know!), it wasn't able to pull out the stuck/sticky booger in my daughter's nose, mainly because it has to be affixed to her nostril firmly. My daughter, on the other hand, won't stay still a moment, and she actually hates it very much. For this specific reason, we were not able to test the scoop.

    Overall, it didn't work for my daughter but might do for other kids and parents. Hence, I am giving my three-stars rating.

    use the booger picker often on my little one, however the suction in the sucker is not fantastic. my 4 week old had a cold and was quite congested, and was only able to remove some. ended up seeing the doctor for electric suction and they recommended the same or one that you put in your mouth and suck

    The only thing that works well is the Picker. I'm not really a fan of the bear and it seems to really upset my son. The bear doesn't seem as effective as the idea using it. Of course any baby is not going to enjoy you trying to get the boogies out but the bear is not as effective as I'd hoped and just seems to stress my son out worse than if I use the picker.
