    The controller functions pretty well, but I do have the same issue I have had on other 3rd party controllers with how the analog stick works. An original N64 controller has an analog stick that sort of "snaps" to a + shape, while this is a much more modern all-direction joystick. This is a problem, since the old design is very necessary for some N64 games since that is how they were written to be played. Many games would work fine, but some are absolutely unplayable without this. Similarly, although the ridges exist in the plastic on the 8 axes, they aren't actually used so you don't have that snapping as you would expect on an N64 joystick.

    The actual joystick plastic is considerably better than some I have tried, so I expect it to last longer

    The green controller, the joystick pulls to the right, hard and constantly. I've tried resetting, plugging in to different spots, different games, etc. It's just poorly made, we've barely used them. The orange one works okay so far.

    Products arrived seemingly in good condition. the buttons felt nice and have a satisfying press/click. However once I plugged them into the N64 I realized that I was often pressing buttons and nothing was happening on screen. For example I was playing the Pokémon Stadium mini games and I was unable to play. The issues existed with both controllers. I tried other games too and they all have the same issue. For my intended purposes the inconsistency made this unusable, and I returned it.

    out of the box these controllers are very functional and accurate. you can do quick spins and aim well in OOT. the range of motion on the stick is a bit wider, maybe by 20%. in the gz practice rom, the coordinates read out to -120 to 120 on both axis whereas an old OG controller read -80 to 80 so it may not be precise enough for people doing SRMs or other things that require pixel-perfect accuracy but for 99% of players it's perfectly fine.

    the stick's base is also covered by a dust cover of some sort instead of having an exposed elbow. this is probably a good thing. i believe the stick top can be unscrewed because extra stick tops were included, but i didn't mess with it.

    the buttons also stand taller than the original, perhaps another 2mm proud than they should. again most people probably would not notice this but if you index your thumb off the face of the controller in a certain way you will get a very slightly different feel to it.

    all of the buttons feel like they are backed by silicone and the give feels about right.

    the plastic feels durable enough, though it's probably polycarbonate as opposed to ABS. it is not quite as slick in texture, but i think that's a good thing.

    the memory pak latch has a weird click noise, maybe the spring is slipping slightly? not a functional problem though.

    the plug which goes into the console actually fits slightly tighter than OG controllers which is nice.

    for the price overall I'm impressed. we'll see how they hold up.
