Lithium power VS nimh power

Melasta Lithium battery replacement last longer and lose less power while in storage. But Nimh & Nicd batteries have self discharge and memory effects that requires more maintenance.(Lithium’s 1% self discharge rate per month vs NiMH’s 25% - 30% self discharge rate per month)

Tips for how to maximize battery life:

1. Use Roomba device often

Roomba devices use a high-performance rechargeable battery that is often used to ensure high performance and efficiency.

2. Keep it charged when not in use

At the end of a cleaning job or when the battery is running low, it returns to the Home Base to recharge. If it is not used for more than 5 Days, please take out the fully charged battery from roomba device.

3. Roomba and home base placed on a flat hard floor when charging, and ensure that adequate space around the home base.

Do not place roomba on a heavy carpet in the charging process while ensuring adequate space around the home base. The purpose is to make sure the contacts are properly aligned.

4. Storage: Keep in dry and cool places, avoid overheating issues

Store Roomba with the battery still installed in a cool, dry place. Avoid overheating issues,such as heating device, thermal exhaust port and etc.

5.Restart your roomba an average for 2 months

Please reboot occasionally to to release the battery power completely（Turn off the power and press the DOCK button to let the machine work until there is no electricity,）and restart your roomba for an average of 2 months.

6.Remove the fully charged battery when you’re out

If you are not planning to use Roomba for a few weeks or longer, When the battery is fully charged, and then remove it from its charger. store it in a cool dry place, separate from the unit. When you return from vacation, recharge the unit to full, then run it until it ran out of electricity. Because the battery power of the idle battery will slowly decrease, the battery need to be charge/discharge for one cycle for at least 3 months to get the best performance.

7.Clean those brushes

Each time your Roomba cleans up, debris like dust, hair, and fur get caught in its brushes. Of course they do -- that's the Roomba's job. However, when that debris builds up, your roomba works harder to spin the brushes, draining away its precious battery life.
