The only real upgraded 14th gen part
I was using a 10700K. I decided it was time..well, actually I got the itch. I decided to go with the 14700K for a few reasons. One is that it's the only 14th gen part from Intel that got a significant upgrade (four more e-cores and 8 more threads, plus a small clock boost). I also don't like that the 3DFX part from AMD had caused some minor issues for people, and I definitely don't like the RAM issues I see all the time on AMD systems. If it wasn't for the RAM issues, I may have gone AMD this time. Out of all the Intel systems I have assembled for customers over the years, I have not once come across a RAM issue that wasn't caused by bad RAM. This CPU is working perfectly, and gaming excellently. Gaming benchmarks show it to be a very good CPU, and I am not having any issues with it. If you are interested in any other Intel parts, I suggest going with 13th gen as you will basically get the same part for less money. For an i7 system though, this is an excellent CPU and a half decent upgrade over the previous gen.

    I bought my new i7 chip, after the big issue with them dying prematurely had been sorted out. 10/2024
    Updated my BIOS on my Z790 board and installed. Away we go! No issue or problems. Have a 360 AIO cooler that helps. Fingers crossed, that these issues are all in the past. I started out with an i7-12700KF.
    It was OK, but lacked the snappiness I wanted. The i7-14700K is one fast CPU! Snappy = Happy
    Nothing worse than building a new PC, and then not being too happy with the performance.
    Very happy with the i7-14700K so far. Recommended.

    鶹 took 30 days to refund my purchase after receiving the item. I waited 15 days and called customer service on 3 occasions a week a part, to my dismay was insulted twice stating they would hang up my call. A $563 product. Intel has shown that the Microcode is defective and requires 0X12B bios update I could not find third party test results showing that it works. further has extended the warranty from 3 to 5 years. I am not willing to take the risk nor put up with extremely poor 鶹 customer service.

    People hate on this but idc what they say it blows AMD comparable out of the water everyone kept telling me get a 7900x3d so I did and it was okay but this 14700k is no joke. The ryzen sucked for sim racing couldn’t handle a lot of AI the 14700k with all the cores I can run 35-40 cars smoothly high graphics on beam ultra graphics with 18-20 ai cars. It’s truly amazing. YES IT DOES GET HOT. But I upgraded my AIO and now don’t have any issues. Honestly I put it in backwards once when I was redoing some paste had to pry it out bent the pins bent them back and still runs perfectly it’s tough. I don’t seem to have any issues with it I know they said the 14700k had some self deteration issue but this one doesn’t seem to I’ve ran diagnostics every week since I’ve gotten it and it’s still performing at 100 percent . Like I said it does get hot so if you get it DO NOT be cheap with the cooler get something nice. There’s not a single CPU in this price bracket that does close to what this one does it’s an absolute beast

    Easy to install with a contact frame speed is very good I use a AIO with mine keeps temps under control does draw a lot of power even when setting it to intel default limits I have seen over 280 watts only for a few seconds but it does use a lot of power so a good psu is recommended and a very good cooler too is also required I have had it hit temps of 89c on a all core workload for gaming you won’t see these temps the hottest it has gotten play cyberpunk 2077 is around 65c max just idling watch videos on YouTube it runs around 30 to 40c so as long as you pair it with a good cooler you are good intel have released the new processors I have had this but they only reduce power usage and no real performance gains yet so I would still buy this when it is on sale
