The Charlie Method (Campus Diaries Book 3) Kindle Edition
鶹
College senior Charlotte Kingston is living two lives―and she's nailing both of them. By day, she's the perfect sorority girl, a STEM student in biomedical engineering, and the adopted daughter of an overachiever family. At night, she's Charlie: a risk-taking daredevil looking for fun who finds herself chatting on a dating app with two anonymous hotties.
Will Larsen may seem like the breezy boy next door, but his congressman father is a constant thorn in his side. After a scandal hits another Division 1 hockey program, Will's dad is determined to distance his son from it, hiring a journalist to prove how squeaky-clean Will and his team are. Which means the last thing Will wants is for anyone to find out he and his best friend Beckett Dunne―a laidback Aussie shielding secret heartache―sometimes share girls in the bedroom.
When Charlie finally meets them in person and realizes she's been chatting with two gorgeous Briar U hockey players, things get steamy―fast. But all their messy secrets are piling up, and real life soon threatens to shatter the fantasy. With Charlie, Will, and Beckett all coming to terms with what they want and what others want for them, difficult decisions will need to be made.
Especially when lust starts to look a lot like love.

This is a fun, entertaining, wild ride. Will, Becket and Charlotte are interesting, complicated, strong, relatable, intriguing, complex, wounded, entertaining characters. The path to their HEA is entertaining to read. These three are fun to spend time with. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. I loved getting to see and hear about the couples from the previous books in the series. I enjoyed the family and friend aspects of the story and what each brought to the main characters and the plot. The story is easy to read and get into.
I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrators.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 10, 2025Verified PurchaseSo I am not generally a why choose trope reader… but this one works! Elle has woven these characters so well together and their story works seamlessly! Charlotte has a lot going on and the personal pressure she places on herself can be a bit overwhelming so the fact that she finds two men who support and ground her so well… perfect!
I love Elle Kennedy’s books, have read them all and this one is another score!
Plus the book being written in this one was a little extra bonus I didn’t know I needed or wanted 💙
- Reviewed in Canada on March 5, 2025Verified PurchaseElle Kennedy should be dubbed the Queen of Hockey Romance. It helps that she’s also Canadian, eh? I really enjoyed this book and it was a refreshing take on a poly relationship. All her characters have such a depth to them, and while I enjoyed Dixon Rules better, I will be reading all things Elle Kennedy and so should you!
- Reviewed in Canada on March 5, 2025Verified Purchase3.75⭐️This started slow for me but by the end I was more into it. I think to be honest it was always going to be in the shadow of the Dixon Rule for me. That book has my whole heart and I wanted Will & Beckett’s story so bad. Like most people I wish that they’d be more to Will & Beckett relationship.
Still I love the series. The dad chat is still a ton of fun, loved seeing the OG gang. The spice is hot. But it didn’t work for me as much as I wanted it too.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 1, 2025Verified PurchaseI loved this book so so much. It amazing from start to finish cant put it down. I love the character development and the story. My only sad part is I wish there are more Will and Charlotte scenes. We get so many solo moments with Beckett by nothing with Will.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 21, 2025Verified PurchaseIt’s a well written book with a sweet ending. Not a super interesting plot line and a bit predictable. But a good read.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 3, 2025Verified PurchaseDon't get me wrong I love every book, from the first series and on but this one just didn't do it for me. It took me a lot longer to get through it, and I found we got a lot of Charlie and not much of Will or Beckett or their relationship with each other.
It also felt forced to connect with the older core characters. Overall, it was not my favorite of Elle's and just was hard to get through. There was nothing gripping me to keep reading.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 4, 2025Verified PurchaseI also very much enjoyed this book. I think there was a missed opportunity for more/different spicy scenes considering the relationship dynamic but all in all good and I love a non-traditional relationship

3.0 out of 5 stars Just... Ok.
Verified PurchaseNever thought I'd say this about an Elle Kennedy book, but this one was just... Ok.
Some Spoilers ahead:

Nevermind the anticipation of a possible new MMF book from Elle (Ladies Men = <3), the MFM relationshio was still sweet (and Hot!), but at times it just really felt lacking that last bit of affection between the MMCs (no need to be steamy).
I do have to say that in all Briar related series I do see a trend of FMC descreasing in likability in each book (Sorry Sabrina & Taylor), and supporting characters stealing a bit of the show (would love to get a Blake & Isaac spin-off), and this one it followed. Out of the 3 FMC of this series, Charlie is by far the least likable IMO and seems to only be able to get her HEA by getting as far as possible from her old life.
I do have to point out that Coach Hollis was as always the most hilarious comeback of all time, and Dad Chat was a great way to incorporate the OG characters into the story, without them taking over!

2.0 out of 5 stars Just wasn’t for me
Verified PurchaseI love Elle Kennedy! And I am sad off Campus and Briar series are over. I just felt kinda off with this story. Maybe it’s just my personal intake on a three person relationship and it just felt odd. I also felt it was more sex scenes and not an actual depiction of how they fall in love. But I do save from the book that I liked Charlie’s character so much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liked it but could have been better
Verified PurchaseAs a hopeless romantic, I am not a fan of Why Choose romance, never even read one before. The only reason I gave this one a chance is because Elle was smart enough to make us fall in love with Beckett and Will in the previous books, so of course you would be curious where their story was headed.
May I say I understand perfectly why Charlotte fell in love with both of them? Because I certainly also did! Buckett and Will are such different characters and complement each other so well, like yin and yang. This is the first time I can’t say if I like one character more than the other, because I literally love them the same and their different personalities speak to different parts of me. I love them separately but also together. Kind of like Charlie, is it no? If that was Elle’s plan behind writing them like this then it was successful.
Charlie, she grew on me but I can’t say she’s one of my favourite female characters. Her insecurities didn’t sit well with me a lot of times but she grew and learned from her mistakes and I loved the character development she had, the maturity she gained. I just couldn’t connect to her on a personal level and there’s something about her that I can’t put into words that’s bugging me. Not the worst FMC I’ve read about but not my favourite either.
And the whole MFM dynamic ? I must say I’m impressed how it was delivered, I actually believed them and was rooting for them. But, I do feel that a more fearless FMC would have been better. Charlotte’s one side of personality was described as such but except going for 2 guys at the same time, I didn’t quite feel it otherwise. I feel like Elle tried to create this one character that would have 2 opposing parts inside of her so she would fit both Beck and Will, but wasn’t quite well delivered. There’s something still missing in this story that I can’t seem to understand what exactly which is why I’ giving it 4 stars, and yet I loved the story as it is. Such contradictions and that’s the beauty of it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Elle Kennedy has smashed it again
Verified PurchaseThis book was not what I expected from all the hints in the previous book.
I think it was done so well though - I enjoy that the relationship was so sex focused and really built a foundation.
Charlotte is such a complex character with a lot of issues and feelings to unpack.
I think there was a bigger story at play. However there were so items that didn’t get wrapped up at the end.
The ending did feel slightly rushed but I still throughly enjoyed it.
The bonus fanfic chapters and Dad chat were brilliant. I’m intrigued at all the Easter eggs for the next book

Book: The Charlie Method (Campus Diaries, Book 3)
Author: Elle Kennedy
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Charlotte Kingston will do anything she needs to maintain her perfect image. Being adopted makes her perfection complex hard enough, but being adopted into a family where everyone seems to have their lives all figured out from birth takes the pressure to a whole new level. When in desperate need of stress relief, she can be found at the racetrack driving cars or searching dating apps for some noncommittal matches. Her most recent match? Two mystery men looking for a good time. Apprehensive at first, their chats continue to build tension until they are ready to meet in person. Their identities are revealed as the two Briar U hockey players driving her crazy in class, Will Larsen and Beckett Dunne, but that doesn’t change the draw to them. As the three continue to spend more time together they quickly realize that the noncommittal fun they all were having has turned into something they can’t live without.
Never having read a MFM romance before, I wasn’t sure what to expect or if it was something I would even like, but in Elle Kennedy we trust. Even with three main characters, we are given a deeper look into each person’s past and see how their current limitations in their relationship came to be. All three being complex characters kept their individual storylines moving just as quickly as their relationship was developing. The anticipation of everyone’s identities being revealed made the beginning quick-paced while the chemistry and instant connection kept me intrigued after the reveal. I was shocked by the limited drama between the three main characters but the side drama was very present. Will and Beckett were both sweet and attentive to Charlotte while she offered them constant support and a deeper connection. The three really made for the cutest couple and a steamy read!
