Enable or Disable the Camera on Your Echo Show 8 (2025 release) or Echo Show 11 (2025 release)
Use your device's settings to enable or disable your camera.
Note: The camera on your device is enabled by default. Turning off the camera disables
some features.
You can enable/disable your camera through the
Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable
button, which turns off both the microphones and camera.
You can also enable/disable just the camera from your device:
- Say "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
- Select Privacy & Permissions.
- Select Camera Access.

A Camera Disabled
appears on the screen when the camera is disabled.
You can also enable/disable the camera from the Alexa app:
- Open the Alexa app
