Enable or Disable the Camera on Your Echo Show 8 (2025 release) or Echo Show 11 (2025 release)

Use your device's settings to enable or disable your camera.

Note: The camera on your device is enabled by default. Turning off the camera disables some features.

You can enable/disable your camera through the Microphones & Camera Enable/Disable button, which turns off both the microphones and camera.

You can also enable/disable just the camera from your device:

  1. Say "Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Permissions.
  3. Select Camera Access.
  4. Toggle Camera to enable or disable the camera.
    A Camera Disabled appears on the screen when the camera is disabled.

You can also enable/disable the camera from the Alexa app:

  1. Open the Alexa app .
  2. Select Devices .
  3. Select the name of your device.
  4. Select Settings .
  5. Select Camera Settings.
  6. Enable/disable camera.
