About Fire TV Recovery Mode

What to do if the Device Recovery Mode screen appears on your Fire TV.

Note: Device Recovery Mode isn't available on all Fire TV devices.

What is Device Recovery Mode?

Your Fire TV device enters device recovery mode when it encounters a critical error that it can’t resolve. An on-screen message appears on your Fire TV and provides options for you to recover your device:

  • To attempt recovery, select the option to restart your device.
  • If the issue persists after restarting, select the option to reset your device to factory settings.
Important: Factory resetting your device removes your account information and downloaded content.
