"Ask Alexa" on Your iOS Device

The "Ask Alexa" shortcut on your iPhone or iPad device lets you interact with Alexa on your device through the Alexa app.

The "Ask Alexa" shortcut on your iPhone and iPad device lets you seamlessly interact with Alexa on your device through the Alexa app.

Note: "Ask Alexa" on the iPhone and iPad is only available on iOS 16.0 or later.
Note: Shortcuts make it easy to access your favorite features quickly. You can create shortcuts, use them with Siri, and add them right to your home screen for easy access.
You can use the "Ask Alexa" shortcut in multiple ways:

Add Alexa to your home screen:

  1. Open the shortcuts app on your phone.
  2. Scroll to 鶹 Alexa.
  3. Press and hold Ask Alexa.
  4. Choose Add to the home screen.

Note: Shortcuts app is pre-installed on iPhones and iPads running iOS 13.0 or later. If you don't have it on your device, you can download it from the App Store.

Voice control method:

  1. Say "Hey Siri, Ask Alexa."
  2. Wait for the Alexa app to open.
  3. Speak your request to Alexa.

Action Button setup:

  1. Open your iOS Settings.
  2. Select the Action Button.
  3. Slide to the Shortcuts option.
  4. Select 鶹 Alexa.
  5. Choose Ask Alexa.
Note: The action button feature is only compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 pro.
