Pair a Phone or Bluetooth Speaker to Your Echo Device with a Screen

Pair Bluetooth devices with your Echo through on-screen settings. These steps also work for the Echo Spot.

Note: Settings menu items for the Echo Hub and Echo Show 5 (all generations) may vary, and those devices will receive a software update soon.
  1. Set your Bluetooth device to pairing mode.
  2. Say, "Go to Settings," or go to the device settings on your Echo Show:
    • If you're using Alexa+, select the Menu icon on your screen, and then select Settings.
    • If you're using the original Alexa, swipe down from the top of the screen and select Settings.
  3. Say, "Go to Settings," or swipe down from the top of the Echo Show screen and select Settings.
  4. Select Device Options, then select Bluetooth.
Select Scan if you don't see the device you're looking for.
  5. Find your Bluetooth device and select Connect.

Once the initial pairing is complete, certain Bluetooth devices might automatically reconnect to your Echo device when in range. If a device doesn't automatically connect, turn on Bluetooth on the device and say, "Pair Bluetooth."
