Alexa Doesn’t Recognize You on Your Echo Show

Alexa isn't recognizing your visual ID or members of your household's visual ID on Echo Show.

  • Make sure that you're enrolled in visual ID.
  • Check your camera shutter. Your camera shutter must be open to use visual ID. If you press the mic/camera off button to turn off the camera and microphones or close the camera shutter, Alexa won’t recognize you.
  • Make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • Make sure that your Echo Show camera can see your face. Sideways angles or obstructed views makes it difficult for Alexa to recognize you.
  • If your room is too dark, Alexa won't recognize you. Make sure that there's enough lighting.
  • If your appearance changes after you create a visual ID, Alexa might not recognize you. Try deleting your visual ID and creating a new visual ID.

If these troubleshooting steps don't work, delete your visual ID and enroll again.
