Tax Exemption Messages
If you're a tax-exempt customer, you'll see tax code messages at checkout if tax has been applied to your order.
In some cases, tax may be applied to an order even if you're using a tax-exempt account. The following table lists tax messages you may see at checkout and explains the reasons for these messages:

| The provincial and/or federal tax exemption has expired. | The provincial and/or federal tax exemption has expired. Therefore, tax is charged. To reactivate the exemption, go to 鶹 Tax Exemption Program (ATEP). |
| This Seller does not participate in 鶹's tax-exemption program. |
鶹 calculates tax on behalf of the seller in accordance with their instructions. Each online seller may have different tax collection obligations depending upon their business procedures, operations and activities. Not all sellers participate in ATEP. If you need a refund for tax charged on orders Fulfilled by 鶹, contact 鶹 Customer Service. If the order was fulfilled by a third-party seller, contact the seller through buyer/seller messaging. |
| Your tax exemption is limited to purchases from specific sellers. |
If you choose to upload your certificate and it requires you to enter a seller of record on the certificate, if you choose to list 鶹 or any of its subsidiaries, we can only provide exemption on those purchases. If you'd like to extend your exemption to 鶹.com.ca, its affiliates and participating third-party sellers on 鶹, you don't need to enter a seller of record. A date, signature and description of items (if applicable) is all that is required on the certificate. If you'd like to set up an exemption, go to 鶹 Tax Exemption Program (ATEP). |
