CAUTION - ELECTRICALLY OPERATED PRODUCT: Not recommended for children under 3 years of age. As with all electric products, precautions should be observed during handling and use to prevent electric shock.

The Echo Show 5 Kids and its included accessories are not toys. Children should be supervised to ensure proper use. Parents should also routinely check to confirm that the device shows no signs of damage or breakage and is in safe condition for use by children. The Echo Show 5 Kids is not suitable for children under 3.

Maintaining Your Echo Show 5 Kids

Do not use your Echo Show 5 Kids (3rd Gen) (your "Device") or adapter near sinks or other wet locations. Do not expose your Device or adapter to liquids. Take care not to spill any food or liquid on your Device or adapter and do not put any object filled with a liquid, such as a vase, on or near your Device. If your Device or adapter does get wet, carefully unplug all cables without getting your hands wet and wait for the device and adapter to dry completely before plugging them in again. Do not attempt to dry your Device or adapter with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair dryer. If the Device or adapter appear damaged, discontinue use immediately. Use only accessories supplied with the device to power your device. To avoid risk of electric shock do not touch your device or any wires connected to your device during a lightening storm.

Only handle your Device with clean hands. Clean the device with a soft cloth that is slightly damp with water and a touch of rubbing alcohol; be careful not to wipe it with anything abrasive or to use any harsh chemicals. After cleaning, wait for the Device to dry completely before plugging it in again.

Don't expose your Device to steam, extreme heat or cold. For example, do not install your Device near any heat sources such as space heaters, heater vents, radiators, stoves, or other things that produce heat. Use your Device in a location where temperatures remain within the Device's operating temperature range set forth in this guide. Your Device may get warm during normal use. To reduce the effect of the warming, place your Device on a heat resistant surface.

Use of third party accessories may impact your Device performance. In limited circumstances, use of third party accessories may void your Device limited warranty. Read all safety instructions for any accessories before using with your Device.

If you wish to stop power from flowing into your Device, press and hold the microphone/camera on/off button (labeled with "Ø"). This will bring up a dialogue screen permitting you to power down your device. To turn your Device back on, press and hold the microphone/camera on/off button.

Only use the included power adapter with your Device. Do not force the power adapter into a power outlet. If the power adapter or cable appears damaged, discontinue use immediately. Do not plug multiple electric devices into the same wall socket. Overloading a socket can cause it to overheat and may result in a fire.

Power Adapter Safety

EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN USING THE POWER ADAPTER. The Echo Show 5 Kids is shipped with an adapter. Parents should not permit children to connect or handle the adapter until they are old enough to do so safely. The Echo Show 5 Kids should only be charged using the adapter included with the device. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock when using the adapter, carefully follow these instructions:

  • Do not force the adapter into a power outlet.
  • Do not expose adapter or cable to liquids.
  • If the adapter or cable appears damaged, discontinue use immediately.

The adapter and cable could present a strangulation hazard. Keep out of reach of young children. Keep the device and its power adapter in a well ventilated area and away from heat sources.

Install your power adapter into an easily accessible socket-outlet located near the equipment that will be plugged into, or powered by, the adapter.

AVOID PROLONGED LISTENING AT HIGH VOLUME. Prolonged listening of the player at high volume can damage the ear of the user. To prevent possible hearing damage, users should not listen at high volume levels for long periods. Also, users should wear headphones that isolate the wanted audio from background noise.

Parents should monitor duration of use and volume levels to ensure appropriate use by children.
