Both pieces have been outside for a couple of months now in Canadian winter (every kind of weather!) and not showing any signs of rust or damage. I put in an additional support only because the animals like to climb and put their full weight while swinging on the feeders. If it was just for plants, etc these would carry the weight I'm sure with no problem. Would recommend.
