  This was originally purchased for exterior Christmas lights where then plug is in a shaded area. We have plugs that are regulated with darkness and light, however those wouldn't work for this particular area. I loved that there was a timer option for Christmas lights. I love it even more since we took down decorations. Our back yard is rather dark and the remote control option allows me to turn the lights on when we need them and turn them off when we don't. Great option for outdoor spaces such as for lights around firepits or decks, camping or outdoor decor.
