I bought the HDHomeRun Flex Duo 2 to replace my older Slingbox. The Flex is easier to setup/install and the channels are easier to access than on the Slingbox. However, the Flex requires an excellent wifi signal on the device you want to watch on (mind you, the Flex is the size of my palm and the Slingbox is bigger than my router). A merely "good" wifi signal will cause the Flex to stutter and drop the picture. This did not happen on my Slingbox where a good signal was sufficient to watch TV (used the same wifi setup for both Flex and Slingbox) So something is weaker on the Flex....? Also, the Flex requires that you are on the exact same router SSID as the Flex box...if you have a wifi extender/booster with a different SSID name it will not work. You can buy a wifi extender which will take the same SSID name as the router, but I don't have one. My Slingbox worked better because it didn't care what the wifi extender/booster was called as long as it was on the same home network. Also, the HDHomerun app will not let me access setup on my Roku devices. The app works fine on my 鶹 devices.
If HDHomeRun Flex Duo 2 would have those better features of the Slingbox I would give it a 5 star rating but as it is...
