My wife chose this unit, and we bought it without my researching it. Happy wife, happy life. Glad I listen to my wife...
I was leery of the rear camera installation in our brand new (less than a week old) car, but the installation went very well. It is very daunting to think of running a 4mm thick cable along seams of the interior panels, door seal and headliner without damaging something. The cable management tool they supply is a godsend, and they included several wire holders for where you just cannot hide the wiring inside panels (we have an SUV with a hatch). The videos on installation are helpful for anyone who has not done interior work before (it is really easy honestly).
I honestly thought that the rear camera was just a cheap add-on, but it is quite clear. I have attached a brief vid from installation work from the rear camera. My car is in my driveway, looking across the street thru a dirty rear window. The clarity is extremely good, and the front camera is even better.
My previous dashcam is a name brand from about 10 years ago, and this is better for about half the price. One thing to point out for anyone having trouble with the phone app connection- your smartphone can only support one wifi connection at a time, so you have to disable Android Auto/Apple CarPlay before connecting to the dashcam. Your phone will save the wifi connection, so just set it up then reconnect to your car. This way when you need it, it is already set up and ready to connect.
