The lowest position is much higher than a standard desk, but could still be used if it's tilted (like for drawing). I wouldn't recommend it for writing or using a laptop if you're using it in a seated position, unless you're using a higher than standard height chair.
I'm a big fan of being able to hide this away when I'm not using it. It fits nicely behind my curtains. I initially thought I could store it under my bed, but it doesn't clear.
My only real complaint is that, although it does fit around the front of my walking pad, it doesn't fit close enough. I find myself stepping onto the motor cover area of my walking pad.
