  Prior to using Ethernet adapter, my Chromecast was connected to my network via wifi. When streaming shows the picture would pause every 10 minutes or so and then take at least 30 or more seconds to resume. Connecting this directly to the wifi router via Ethernet has solved the issue. Once the show starts it plays right through to the end now without any pauses. Connecting this was very simple to do. The key thing to remember is to do a factory reset on the Chromecast after you have connected it via Ethernet and follow the normal setup process.
