  Sorry for the bad review...to turn the light off you have to slightly unscrew the top, this causes it to unscrew further with any movement. The top fell off in two days hanging from my purse, the top fell off of my daughters key chain and the new one I was using that didn't lose it's top was dead as I guess it re-engaged with the battery if that makes sense. They are cute and stylish but it doesn't matter now.
