I first ordered one of the cheaper $20 cable adapters and it did not work with my old Korg O1/W and my 2019 Macbook Pro so I returned it for a refund after confirming that the MIDI jacks on my Korg still work when connected to other MIDI peripherals with just standard MIDI cables. So I decided to try out this more expensive Roland cable. It comes with a CD-ROM but the manual looks a bit dated so instead of using the drivers from the disc, I went directly to the Roland website to download the latest drivers for my OS X. Installed the drivers successfully and plugged the Roland cable adapter into my Macbook from my Korg O1/W and opened up a software instrument from Garageband. Right away, I got sounds from Garageband by playing keys on my Korg so this product works well with my gear. Now I could use my O1/W as an external MIDI controller keyboard as well as an external synthesizer.
