  This controller works great with the 1/2 HP DC motor I bought to run my wood lathe. I did need to open it up to adjust the voltage pot as it originally did not deliver the full 90V as others have mentioned. But after that it has been working perfectly for a year now. I also bought a polarity reversing switch so the motor can run in both directions, which is nice for sanding turned items.
