Jurassic World-Dominion(released May/22)tars,among others,Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard,Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill, among others. Before I get into the actual review itself,I just want to step out and say right off that I'm totally baffled by the detractors to this film. Some who complain about such things as the animals didn't look right in the dark are so far off as to be in orbit.Do not believe the negative reviews at all.If you have followed the series from the first film(JP) all the way to this, you will NOT be disappointed. On to the review. This film takes place a few years after the last, as the dinosaurs have escaped, multiplied and have become integrated with the human population on a global scale.Something which the human race has had no choice but to watch and deal with.Pratt & Howard are now the caregivers to Lockwood's granddaughter, and many an underhanded person is after her for her genetics. So both "parents"have had a tendency to keep her on a short leash, which the older she gets(now 14)the more she resents it.One day reality strikes and she is kidnapped and taken to Malta, then on to a large research facility in the Italian Alps run by Biosyn.Of course Pratt and Howard are right on their trail which leads them also to Biosyn in Italy. Concurrently Dern has been investigating a plague of giant locusts which are devastating corn fields across the U.S.,only leaving fields which have been planted with Biosyn corn seeds alone. She in turn gets in touch with Neill in Utah at a dig site there, and together they wrangle an invite to visit Goldblum at the Biosyn facility in Italy where he lectures. When they arrive at first it seems like he's sold out for money. But it turns out he's as concerned with what's happening as they are and discreetly gives Dern a pass to the lower facility where the locusts are being created. At the same time Pratt and Howard get separated temporarily on their way as the plane they are flying is attacked by an ancient air predator and goes down.Pratt and the pilot crash land on a frozen lake, while Howard is ejected and ,lands in a dense forest.Through some trials and tribulations the three end up together again, and eventually run into Dern and Neil as they have already encountered Lockwood's granddaughter. They along with Goldblum escape via helicopter piloted by the pilot of the plane. Not only have they retrieved the granddaughter but another important cargo-the Velociraptor Blue had a baby back home and along with the girl was also taken to Italy.Pratt has it safely tied to his back. Neill and Dern return home to testify against Biosyn and their projects. One of the original researchers from Jurassic Park obtains the granddaughters DNA and bio engineers a solution to the locust problem. And Howard and Pratt return home to settle down once more, and return Blue's offspring to her. This film has numerous jump/scare scenes and along with a lot of oooh/ahhh moments.I cannot believe that this film was 146 minutes long,as I could have watched another 120 minutes easily. And THAT for me is a good movie. It was great to see the blending of the new and old in this film.Included is a 10 minute short called "Battle at Big Rock".It's a reminder, especially to the small fry, that as neat as the concept of actually living with some dino's could be,the reality would be something totally different. In conclusion, this a franchised film that has to be seen if you are any kind of fan of the series. It moves at a fast pace and the action rarely slows down. It's a seamless blending of the old and new casts and is bound to please.4 1/2-5 stars.
