  I wasn't sure what I was going to get. It kinda looks like it's all metal and chrome finish. It's not. The connecting rod is metal but everything else is plastic and......it's black (which is fine). The magnet that attaches to the phone is extremely strong. You have to slide it off to the side to remove it. The base swivels after it is permanently attached to the mounting pad, which is also permanently attached to your dash or wherever. So, do a complete layout before attaching the parts to the car as it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to reorient them after. Right now the parts are attached to my car and waiting to cure for the next day or so. I did attach my phone temporarily to verify installation. All good! Lots of adjustments after the phone is attached with sufficient friction to hold everything in its place. I think this is a very well designed cell phone holder for auto use - just be careful before you do the final install. Recommended.
