The outer shell of the grinder is plastic so I don鈥檛 expect it to be durable. The dosing leveller (the 鈥渞azor鈥) is also plastic (the one I got with my espresso machine is metal so it looks like Breville cheaped out on their accessories). I found that a grind size of 10 is best for espresso. The counter footprint is small. The noise level is low. There is a bit of spillage when grinding directly into a filter basket. It鈥檚 simple to use.
