Mom is almost 96 but still likes her independence. This rail gives her that. She didn't want to be tipped out of an electric chair as she thought she would fall. The negative aspect for her is that the arms are in the way when she is not needing to stand such that she sets off her wrist alarm button without knowing it.(Ideally, in a perfect world, the arms would fold down when not in use and up when needed.) Happily, her occupational therapist was impressed with the difference this stand assist made and enthusiastic to learn that such a device existed to recommend to other patients in need of help to stand..
