- Reviewed in Canada on February 9, 2023After an off brand D cell battery died after one charge cycle I decided to replace the whole set of four with a name brand battery to avoid issues like that. These batteries don't have their capacity clearly stated in the description (I had a quick browse to double check, it may be there if you look better, but it isn't obvious) and they are a big let down.
Not thinking anything of it I took all four batteries out of their packaging, two together at a time, to give them their initial charge. When I picked one up individually to put it in the charger I realized just how light this battery is. Upon inspection I found out this is only a 2500mah battery!
Attached is a photo of the Energizer next to a GP AA battery I bought in 2007. It had a higher initial capacity than this battery. An AA from 2007! (Which I still have because it still works.)
I took them out of the package, but I'm still going to see if I can return these batteries. Without a clear warning in the listing about this battery's abysmal capacity this is effectively a scam.
