  It's a hack of a lot better than a dock. Sides have marks to help you attach your device to it. The connection is firm and doesn't seem like it would loosen up under general use. I wouldn't go skip-ropping with it. It worked on both SDD and HDD just fine and looks nice beside the laptop with a drive in it. Used on a Chromebook with a HUB the HUB wonks out and you have to re-plug. I've used it to flash images or back up data. I'm digging up all these old HDD's and weeping at a long gone past.
