Pros: (1) Easy to clean by simply wiping down. No need to launder. Quickly and easily air dries. (2) Waterproof material (3) Secure Velcro closure that is slightly adjustable (4) Great coverage width wise, with 鈥渙k鈥 protection of lap if the bib isn鈥檛 folded upwards to make the pocket (5) sturdy materials used (6) clean sewing with proper securement of edges and Velcro (7) Fair price, and it鈥檚 a 3 pack.
Cons: (1) the waterproof material is great and for an organization it鈥檒l make for easy cleaning and sanitizing, but I do worry that it will become problematic for liquid spills because it鈥檒l run off rather than absorb. I guess that鈥檚 where the pocket could come in handy? On the other hand, a cloth outer layer would have allowed for absorption of liquid spills so they wouldn't run down onto someone鈥檚 lap, with an inner waterproof layer to protect the individuals clothing. That would have been my preference, but these will do for our needs as an organization. (2) although when sitting down, the unfolded bib does cover some of the wearers lap, it only goes about halfway to a persons knees. We were looking for an adult bib that would cover the individuals entire lap for overall protection. It would have also made more sense to have the entire lap covered with the fact that this is made of slick, non-absorbent material. Any liquids spilled will end up running right down the bib and into the persons pants. (3) The option to fold the bib up and snap it in place to form a pocket is an ok idea, and its the only way to protect the lap against spills, but unfortunately it doesn鈥檛 function well. Unless you spread open the pocket once it鈥檚 snapped in place, there鈥檚 no real way for it to catch any fallen food because It otherwise sits closed again the body. Even if you spread it open, you would also have to continually adjust the pocket because as the individual moves, it moves and is no longer in an ideal shape to catch fallen food. The best option would have been to go with a longer length to cover the entire lap and forget about the whole snaps and pocket thing. (4) There could have been a bit more space for larger neck sizes. The bib as it is should be able to accommodate 鈥渕ost鈥 individuals, especially females, but it could be lacking in space for larger male wearers. (5) The lack of 鈥渟olid colour鈥 design options (at the time of purchase), and the choice to go with 鈥済endered鈥 patterns was a turn off. I would have purchased elsewhere because of this if I had found a more suitable product in my budget. IMO a product like this should be less 鈥渇lashy鈥 in order to not stand-out, to respect the dignity of the wearer. Solid colours that blend in and are not clocked as something different from the typical adult shirt is what I would have preferred. There is also no reason why a product like this needs to have masculine and feminine designs, instead of being unisex. Solid, more neutral colours would have been usable by anybody. We went with the plaid trio because at least anybody wears plaids, but men most times aren鈥檛 into flowery designs.
All in all, it works for the needs of an organization. When considering its use by multiple different users, including the need for sanitization, the waterproof nature of this bib, and the ease of cleaning is ideal for us.
